Went to Jacksons on a whim & even though they were busy they fitted us in. Food was delicious, piping hot & fresh. Reasonably priced & thoroughly enjoyed. Staff also very friendly & helpful. If we had stayed in Bowness longer we would definately have gone back.

Such a comprehensive menu might make you think that Jacksons is "Jack of all Trades but Master of None" but you would be wrong. On arriving we received a poor welcome and seated in a room on our own. We had the seafood starter for two that was not fresh seafood very disappointed. The mains are over priced and under portioned. the staff were very accommodating and found us a table even though the place was very busy. The food was very good and we may have gone back had we not found another restaurant which was marginally better (Roberto's).

Had a lovely meal on 6th June. King Prawns and Scallops cooked to perfection. Full marks for the chef. Front of house staff abrupt and we got the impression they wanted us in and out as soon as possible.

Had a great meal at Jacksons and could not fault it. First time stay in Bowness and certainly made a great choice. Would definitely recommend

Have found that Jacksons is one of the best restaurants in Bowness, we have eaten here each time we have visited Bowness , and have always had a really nice meal,have had dissaponting experiences in a few other restaurants there so now just pre book when we book our B&B
