Liked the ambience, staff/owner welcoming and friendly. Visited on January 1st and cold outside but nice and warm inside. Simple decor but great food. Relatives had florentina (looked like half a cow) probably nearer to T-bone steak but tried and meat was meltingly tender. Florentina was expensive but would have srved at least 3 people

We were on our way to Montepulciano, a bit lost and hungry when we saw a little house on a hill that looked like a restaurant. Noticing that it was quite full with locals we decided to try it out. We could not have been more pleased. First off the view from the porch is amazing. Secondly the food was... More

We spent 3 weeks touring from Rome to Venice by car, Tuscany is just amazing an the hill town of Montepulciano is no exception. We sat on the terrace overlooking the countryside sampling there fine food and local wine. This place has a real ambience and i was amazed how we just melted into the chairs totally absorbed in what... More

Enroute to our next destination we pulled into La Casina, a small and unassuming restaurant overlooking a valley. Hoping to have a good lunch, to our delight, we had a fabulous lunch. We sat out on the patio with a view of the valley surrounded by locals and grapevines. The owner/chef and a very pleasant waitress tended our table as... More

We stopped here on our drive south after visiting Montepulciano. This was our most memorable meal in Italy. The view was breathtaking but the food was even better. All 4 dishes were great. Unfortunately, I ordered a salad because I was still full from breakfast. My daughter had a savory pasta with tons of truffles. Her friend had a delicious... More

My husband & I just randomly stopped at this restaurant while driving from Chianciano Terme to Montipulciano & it ended up being one of our most favorite meals in Italy during our 10 day trip! First, the food is excellant. Of the different dishes we had, we were most blown away by the spinach ravoli (or puff pastries as it... More

My wife and I have been there yesterday. The tagliolini with prosciutto, asparagi and tartufo and the Filetto di Chianina al lardo di colonnata con pepe tricolore were really wonderful. Service and the place were excellent. Wine (we had three glassess of a white Frescobaldi, a red Nobile di Montepulciano and a Brunello) was absolutely gorgeous.
