“A great Stop Off for Lunch”

From the welcome hello of the hotel receptionist to the warming glow of the real fire in the bar one gets the feeling of being cosseted. I stopped here for lunch recently and was glad I did. “Disappointing bar”

In a period building that plays on it's history, the bar is a generic, sterile place that would not seem out of place in a community hall. There is no privacy or hint of intimacy, nor is there any period friendly interior design that you would expect in such an establishment.

we had the prime rib "from the trolley" - when the prime rib was served it was lukewarm - it was just ok- nothing special; the waitress was pleasant but average;
