We spent two wonderful evenings at the pub. The nicest people from all over the world and a lovely staff. Very good music on tuesdays, when they have an open session.

We enjoyed Lowry's wonderful traditional Irish music on a recent Saturday night. The place was packed with friendly locals and a few visitors including us. Great atmosphere...low key and relaxing. Had lunch there earlier in the day. Our second visit to Clifden and Lowry's.

This gem of a pub in Clifden is the best we've found on many short trips around Ireland. This is a genuine spot with a great mix of locals & tourists & is generally buzzing any evening you choose to visit. We love the anyone can get involved feeling, with many musicians either starting up of their own accord or... More

Even in the off season, this place has great traditional music and is buzzing on a Saturday night. And on a Monday afternoon it was just as welcoming, with friendly staff. The whole bar is covered in old advertisements - I could have sat and read them all day. Oh, and there's free wifi too!

Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere --perfect for a pint or a whiskey. We missed the trad session, but heard it is excellent.

The people are so friendly! We met and got to know some visitors from other parts of Ireland and some regulars of this bar!

What could you want in a bar that Lowry's doesn't offer? They have a wide range of drinks at reasonable prices served by lovely staff and some snacks too. There are regular live music nights. The last band I saw was excellent and energetic and managed to include children and others listening in the singing, dancing and playing. The bar... More

A lovely local bar. People of all ages were there. Nice beer selection. The musicians gathered at a table in the back and the crowd swelled to hear them jam. Musicians were a mixture of young and old, with accordion, boudrain (sp?), guitars and fiddle. Great music and great fun!

Clifden is a great location for traditional music on the West Coast of Ireland. Lowry's is the place to go hear traditional sessions and local musicians sit in. They have music 7 nights a week in the summer and a reduced schedule during the rest of the year. Some nights are traditional sessions others feature set performers. In any event... More
