I thought I would have a Ploughmans Lunch as I have not had one of them in ages...IT'S A HAM AND CHEESE SANDWICH!....I do know the difference...two slices a fairly dry bread with grated cheese and " hand cut" ham....the ham was too well cut to be hand cut...it was processed ham...a sprig of lettuce and a tiny tomato cut... We used to come to this restuarant and always found the food and service to be excellent. Therefore, we had no hestation in coming out for a meal with friends. Wish I had read Trip Advisor first- I had no idea it had gone so downhill!! The location iteself is lovely however we were gretted and then served by possibly... More

We visited this pub restaurant with friends on a busy Saturday night. There is plenty of choice but the food was pretty average but the time taken to serve it was far too long. The notice asks customers to order at the bar but the bar service for drinks was slow as well! Drinks prices are very reasonable compared to... More

Used to enjoy a Sunday roast and Saturday lunchtime meal - in fact was one of my favourite places. However, since it has changed management the food quality and service seems to have gone down and the special Sunday roast deal doesnt exist any more which is a shame as it was such a good deal. Wouldn't mind too much... More

The pub has a very traditional feel to it and a good range of beers. The food selection is good with an additional specials board. However menu has the clear feel of a food chain. We had the Fahita's (best on Friday nights for full selection, only chicken at other days...go figure!) and the presentation, helping size and quality was... More

We had to call somebody over to be served after 25 minutes of waiting. We ordered Beef and then were told that there was not beef left after the order was placed, the food came out after 45 minutes and was very very bad and the size of a dinner I would give to a 5 year old. I had... More

We arrived at 1.30pm , midweek. Despite the freezing temperatures outside the fires were not lit so it looked and felt cold. Midweek meal deals are brilliant for pensioners ..so it was about three quarters full. 45 minutes later I asked where our meals were and explained I was on a lunch hour. The waitress went to find out and... More

The hotel itself is full of character, it is very easy to imagine it as an old coaching inn. The dining area has a nice atmosphere. The staff are cheery & helpful, and the food is tasty. Lovely river view out of the side windows.

I took my partner out for a surprise birthday meal. Our food was served at different times. My brother had finished his starter and main I still hadn't received my starter. My step mum is a vegetarian and was served a meat lasagne. What an absolute disgrace. Shouldn't b allowed to be open.
