It was a last minute booking but we were fortunate to get probably the best seats in the theatre - seats 9 and 10 front on to the kitchen at the chef's counter. We had never been to Sake despite many suggestions from others as to how good it is. With Lynn's dairy and wheat allergies, we still had a... More

Set in the Argyle, a historic wharf building with stone walls and wooden beams, Sake manages to keep the rustic style as well as appear modern Japanesy in decor. For the traveller who can afford it, or the Sydnesider who likes Japanese - Western fusion fare, Sake has much to offer. Begin with a cocktail, although the ginger can be... More

Having recently enjoyed some of the best food that Tokyo and Kyoto has to offer, we took our critical faculties to Sake for dinner. I had visited a year ago and while enjoying the food was disappointed with the service. No such disappointments this time. Our waiter was responsive, knowledgeable and friendly. The food was excellent especially the tuna ceviche... More

I reserved a table at Sake a few weeks ago for a celebratory meal for myself and my fiance. As soon as you enter the restaurant, you know you are in for a treat! The service was exceptional and the waiter gave us some excellent recommendations from a menu where we were spoilt for choice. We sat at the Chef's... More

Cool and trendy place, but was not all style and no substance. The food was superb, beautifully presented, tasted fantastic, and a nice choice on the menu of interesting starters and main courses. Pleasant, polite staff and a nice ambience in both the restaurant and bar.

A group of us came here on a Fri night to eat. It's not cheap but you would expect that at a place like this. Rather than get main meals we shared lots of small meals. Gives you the opportunity to try lots of different things. Next time though, I think I will go for one of the mains as... More
