It would be absurd to describe it as anything other than a very good restaurant. We had the degustation menu and while one or two courses seemed a little hit and miss the quality was consistently high and one or two dishes were outstanding. However, as is often the case where the chef owns the restaurant there seemed at times... More

Had a wonderful dinner on a Monday night. Personal and warm welcome at the door and entered into the @50 seat restaurant. Plush furnishings, carpet and wood finish. Very classy and luxurious. The degustation meal was outstanding. In our experience – much better than the similarly rated Becasse and on a par with Quay (also in Sydney) or Vue de... More

Marque is quietly set admist the Crown St eateries. The restaurant itself is quiet and cosy and very polished. We had the 8 course degustation with the cheese course. For the most part the food was sensational the beef being the highlight dish. There was a nice mix of meat's and vegetables dishes. Some complex flavours and textures blended together.... More

Visited with a business group and had a great evening. The set menu was incredibly well presented, although it might push a few of your boundaries (for example while the chicken heart was surprisingly good, I couldn't bring myself to try the chocolate covered chicken liver - but these were the most "out-there" choices, everything else was more accessible -... The risk with a restaurant that has won so many accolades is that it doesn't live up to expectations, and some reviewers seem to have found that. We were no disappointed however: the foor is truly special with wonderful combinations of taste and textures on each plate. The service was attentive and surprisingly unpretentious, although it's easy to see that... More

My husband booked Marque for my birthday. Its meant to be the best restaurant in Sydney this year according to AGFG but it didn't live up to expectations. It was nice but for $150 p/p for food, it wasn’t worth it. The champagne was really good but at $30 a glass (and only 1 option) I would have expected this.... More

What great value. $45 for 3 courses (they throw in anopther 2) for a 3 hat restaurant. This only happens on Friday for lunch and is a real treat. OK, they charge $5 for your choice of still or mineral water but, hey, I've seen worse. The small resturant always delivers perfect, innovative food, excellent service, and a warm atmosphere.... Had an amazing experience when going to Marque with work friends. The waitstaff were so helpful especially the sommelier who chose an amazing austrian riesling for us which I wish I remembered the name off!! We had a la carte & each dish held its own, my duck egg was superb & wagyu beautifully cooked. I was incredibly jealous of... More

Took forever to get a booking... "Oh, we're booked out months in advance...". Restaurant on the Monday dinner sitting was less than half full. Service staff were hesitant, adding no sense of occasion or cheer to the experience. No interest in whether we enjoyed the meal, no comment when some dishes were cleared uneaten. Wines refilled too eagerly. Foam Crab?... More

We ordered a degustation menu for dinner. Overall it was an elegant dining experience. I thought the service was a bit snobby, which was a let down (as a comparison, I've yet to experience bad service at Tetsuya's, Becasse or Bennelong, for example). I also felt the dining room was not relaxed - isn't dining meant to be about fun?... More
