We always visit this cafe when we are in Hobart. Excellent food and good value. Beats Sydney prices/quality hands down. Generous serves. Wish we had one here! Lovely area to walk around, friendly staff even though they are always busy. Delicious range of baked goods and breads.

Great food and great service. We has the savoury danish and (very large) croissant. Both very good and served by attentive and interactive staff. Good mix of local and out of town clientele. Go after nine to avoid the rush.

We had brunch on a Sunday. Ordered scrambled eggs wrapped in smoked salmon (11$), tea and coffee. The meals were too salty, and the pastry was soggy. The coffee was weak and lukewarm, but the tea was good. As an Hobartian icon it is overrated.

Stopped in here while walking around Battery Point. And after looking in how could you go past the look of the food! We got a couple things to share and all were real good. Would have loved to try more but we had already had breakafast. Nice litlle setting although they were busy when we came, and it did feel... More

I had breakfast with a friend here Sunday week ago, had an immaculately executed apple gallette and then snared me a handful of goodies for the trip up to Launceston. The lemon curd tart I had on the bus up there was creamily heavenly and for dinner that night I had a pretty impressive pork belly and shitake mushrooms wrapped... More

Had two great pies from Jackman & McRoss in a 4 day trip to Hobart. Definitely go with the relish/tomato sauce on your pie. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to try their breakfast. (My coffee needed a little more effort perhaps). It's an easy walk up from Salamanca Market, and you can even get takeaways.

Great bakery, restaurant too, and very friendly community-minded owners. The place I head to whenever I am in town.

There is nothing to dislike about this bakery/cafe. It has it all. The food; cakes, tarts, breakfast panini, coffee are all superb. Be there early as this place can get very busy, although, the service staff are very efficient.

This place has been open for more than 100 years, and deservedly so! The staff were genuinely friendly and attentive while at the same time the food was superb. Initially looking at the menu I thought it was over priced, then my meal sized croissant was served (which was divine!). Get there early if you're interested in breakfast, because it... More
