Just off Flinders lane, this place feels a world away from the hustle and bustle. The atmosphere is calm and a bit more formal that some of the CBD, but not pretentious. Very good staff, great wine choices and very good food came together for a wonderful evening. Definitely will plan to dine here again on our next trip. GREAT... More

After the rave reviews, we expected more from this place. The vichyssoise entree was great, although there were far too many leeks for the amount of broth provided. The escargot entree was tough and rubbery - as if the snails had been frozen. Steak mains were cooked well, but did not stand out especially.

The friendly welcome and the attentive service set up our evening beautifully. The waiter we had was so French he could barely u derstand us :) Authentic! The menu was lovely and had traditional items presented in a modern way. The entree charcuterie plate was amazing with duck liver parfait, terrine, cured meats and delicate breads and condiments that were... More

We happened on this restaurant by pure chance, we were so so lucky !!!! Such a fabulous atmosphere, food and staff. The staff speak both French and English and will speak to you in either. With French background music and French food with a Melbourne twist it made our last evening in Melbourne truly memorable we will definitely go back... More

Firstly the service at this restaurant was excellent. The staff were attentive and friendly with a sense of humour. Complements to the chefs - the food was divine. My main was cooked to perfection, and the black fig dessert was to die for. The ambience of the restaurant was warm and friendly and I would definitely go back again.

This sophisticated yet relaxed restaurant is high on my list of new favorites. The food was impressively divine and the staff who are actually French were skilled in what they do. The waiters knew the menu and the wines and the chef could definitely cook - the food was amazing. I will definitely be going back. It's true you really... More

$16.50 for a smallish bowl of French onion soup is a bit steep even by Melbourne standards. To cater for modern tastes, old French classics have been "lightened up" ...still tasty but nothing special. Conveniently located on a lane (aka alley) off Flinders with a contemporary decor. A largish entry way has "outdoor" seating that alas only looks out at... More

I continue to return and recommend this restaurant. Not only for the superbe french style of cooking, but also the friendliness and good humour of the staff. A formulae, choice of 2 courses and a drink, is available at lunchtimes. I suggest always booking

First time eating at a French restaurant, it was excellent. Although it was busy, our orders were taken swiftly and our entrées arrived quite quickly. I ordered the Escargots de Bourgogne à l'ail to start, then the five course Formule du Chef for mains, where the chef designs a meal for the table which was perfect. Will definitely be going... More
