Why do I often stay here? Friendly, good range of cold beer, comfy rooms, always good food that in no question punches above its weight (feels like a pub delivers like a restaurant), they don’t mine me setting up an office in the corner (as I have now), they can give me a noisy pub, refined restaurant or quiet bar... We stopped in Napier on our New Zealand cruise and before leaving Australia I researched the area and what it had to offer. I was after something a little different than the everyday Pub and not silver service like a restaurant. I came across the Westshore as an Eco bistro offering a refreshing menu. We hired bikes and really enjoyed... More

Its funny but when I travel I do the same thing....look where the locals eat and drink. Its then also interesting for the staff having people from another country as well. The Pub is actually the oldest operating pub on its site, 1926 pre earthquake, but the licence dates back to 1851! Thank you for taking the time to review... More

Everyone must try the ribs! They are the best ribs in town, I can guarantee that. We love going to the Westshore Beach Inn for a meal. There are plenty of areas to dine indoors or outdoors. The service is wonderful! The staff are always very friendly and extremely helpful if you require additional information on places to see or... More

This hotel was recommended by the motel we were staying at down the road and we were not disappointed opting to dine here two nights in a row. It appears there are 2 restaurants attached and we were in the more casual bar area both times. From the looks I admit we didn't expect much as it was just your... More

We went before heading off to the Mission concert. The menu was brunch as well as a short lunch one. That was great as it gave something for everyone. The kids had the Juicy Pork Spare Ribs, which came in two sizes - be warned - when they say large they mean it! They were to die for!!! I had... More

Good meal with staff a little flustered by another large group of diners. we got there in the end with a traditional fish and chip meal. Prices were higher than expected but would recommend if you want a quieter location to dine.

Thank you for taking time to visit and review. Yes, our fish and chips are a little more expensive, that is becasue we only use FRESH fish, never ever frozen. The flavour is worth it - its like our scotch we only use "Prime Angus" beef. Hope we see you again soon. Cheers & Beers Jeremy Bayliss More

Don't let the age of the hotel deter you, began as a coaching INN more than 150 years ago on this spot. Today, it's a tidy well run property with bar, inn, restaurant. Food is always excellent and at family prices. Fresh well prepared served promptly and will not break the bank. can't think of a better price - quality... More

Great, we try very hard to make the whole family welcome. We have a seven year old so we see ourselves as family friendly - Sebastian is actually in charge of the toys and many are his hand me downs. Cheers & Beers Jeremy Bayliss More

My partner and I went to this recommended eatery to check it out following great reviews on here. Sadly we did not get to eat there. On arrival, we walked passed four bicycles that seemed to be stored inside for possible hire and into a room that seemed to act as both the front desk and an office. There was... More

I have really struggled to answer you review. Why? You and your partner were on site a total of 2 minutes and 50 seconds. It probably took longer to write the review than your stay. So I cannot respond to any comment on food as you had none. I cannot respond to the service as you loved the waitress (... More

Yay! Somewhere you can go for brunch that is not pretentious (the chef came out and asked how our meals were and also waited on some tables – how often do you see that!?) and offers something different for brunch other than boring pancakes and full English’s. It was a nice sunny Sunday, so we sat outside and the wait... More

Thanks heaps for taking time to review your stay. Yes, Grant and Bobbi love getting out of the kitchen and having a chat - Obviously, they too have confidence in their food! The Rancheos have been extremely popular, people looking for something different I think. Cheers n Biers Jeremy Bayliss More
