good atmosphere, great friendly staff, with a sense of humour, food reasonably priced and yum yum yum!!

The staff were friendly and a lot of fun. This was a big pub feed, needed after a big day out exploring. Loved the ribs.

The first time that we ate here we only wanted a small meal as we had had a late lunch. I am glad that we only ordered a small meal. This had us reeling. The chowder was excellent and the fish well cooked. The chips alone would have been sufficient. The ribs on the following night were really great. Forewarned...

$50 for 2 bowls of chips/fries and 2 sides of ribs....well that was more than the two of us could handle...see photo with hand for dimension comparison. We left with a whole side in our doggy bag. Nice, tasty, not too saucy, yummy sauce too. Got the seafood chowder too, it was OK but not much smoked fish...a let down...

If your a meat eater looking for dinner in Paihia, go to Jimmy Jack's. Ordered the rocking ribs and was not dissapointed. Must have been half a cow on the plate. The hickory sauce on the ribs was great, and they wern't drowned in it so wasn't too messy to eat. The roll of paper towels on the table is...

Although we were there in the "off season" I could see how this would be a very popular spot. Not the traditional seafood chowder that we are used to in the states but still very good. Burgers were big and juicy.

Definitely not fine dining, but it was filling and really tasty. One of the most economical meals we had in 5 weeks in NZ.

This is the first time i have ever had ribs that tasted soooo good... The staff were pleasant, well mannered and a delight to see interaction with their customers. We have the taster platter and that was plenty. The price was not over the top and we enjoyed the busy packed environment even on a Wednesday night - thanks so...
