We chose to dine at The Brantry primarily because of an offer in The Entertainment book. We dined here for dinner and we were very impressed. This restaurant appears to be a converted lower level of a house. From the moment we walked in, we received excellent service which continued throughout the evening. For $55, you will get a top... We had eaten here a couple of times and been really impressed so we had no hesitation in booking it for a family occasion with relatives visiting from overseas. We were a party of 7 and it was Easter weekend so I booked it months in advance to make sure we didn’t miss out. When we arrived we were put... More

This was the highlight of our week in NZ. The food was amazing and the staff were so professional. The male staff member attending to us was very experienced and had us laughing most of the night. It was very private, quiet and a wonderful experience. You don't mind paying top dollar for top food and service. Thanks Brantry for... More

Could not fault this place. Service was attentive but unobtrusive. Meals were delicious and had their own little twists. Wine was great. Price was good value. $98 for 3 glasses of wine, 2 entrees and 2 mains, with complimentary home made bread. Each main was well balanced and complete with greens and extras were not required. Would return in a... More

This restaurant actively advertises as a high end meal and it does not disappoint. Although quite small and unique dining areas (being an old house) the tables are set up so that you do not notice the diners next to you. Service and food is of the highest standard and the wait staff add to the high end feel of... More

Just got back from dinner at the bantry. Trip advisor reviews sent us in this direction and while it was more expensive than we were expecting (entrees are $15 and mains $30) the wine prices were reasonable and the food really great. Our waitress was lovely and very helpful. A definite place to eat.

We were made to feel very welcome from the outset an the host/waiter was excellent. The wine list had great choices and was well priced. The food was AMAZING.. It was elegant but of a good size, hot and tasty. The menu was really well thought out and interesting. I am a really keen cook and all the choices in... More

Staying just across the road, we made what turned out to be one of the best culinary decisions for many a long time, we decided to book at the Brantry. The booking was a breeze, we were met at the front desk by a bubbly person who took us to what was virtually our own dining room, a rustic under... More

Our time share owners recommended the, 'restaurant in the basement of a house' down the street. We found it easily and were ushered into a tidy, cozy room (in the basement) for dinner. The staff were attentive, but the menu was uniquely kiwi, with fresh, local ingredients. My wife had beef, and I had duck; both cooked to a flavourful,... More
