In the past few months I've been to St Johns a few times for lunch and dinner. Each time it's been fab, the food is simple but very well cooked, well seasoned and balanced. The atmosphere is classy without being pretentious and the service is great. I'd definitely recommend a meal there to anyone who is looking for superb food... More

Enjoyed Fridays Lunch so much we came back Saturday Lunch time to sample the oysters and lie in the sun! Nice atmosphere, staff friendly. Recommend chicken snitzel and rib eye. Soak it all in and enjoy the wharf atmosphere. Great! We will be back.

We went here recently and were in a group of about twelve. Our menu choices had been sent to us as we only had a certain time to eat before going on to a show. I thought the dining room was spacious and quiet considering the number of other diners there at the same time. You could hear others at... More

What a great way to enjoy a sunny wellington day. Bean bags on the lawn were very relaxing. We ordered the kumara chips... not what we expected... better! they were large chunky slices of kumara served with sour cream and sweet chilli sauce. Soaked up the beer wonderfully. Take a moment to relax at this great establishment.

Well-located near the waterfront with an attractive menu in the mid-price range. Nice service.

We chose the St John's restaurant as we had a voucher for a complimentary main course from the Entertainment Guide, but having been once, we'd definitely go again, voucher or not ! The service is excellent, the staff are friendly and unpretentious, the food sublime, and the decor is smart and understated. My partner's steak was the best he'd ever... More

We went for lunch in a party of 4. The scotch fillet I had was some distance from being a good butcher's product. It was cooked as I asked but being an inferior piece of meat to start with, the cooked result was not as good as I would have expected. The cabbage salad that came with it was poor.... More

Didn't expect much from this place as I hadn't heard anything about it from anyone. We walked into the bar from the outside door so that didn't do much for me. Then we were shown to a back room which was the restuarant and had a lovely suprise. The room felt good, good layout and good atmosphere. We were a... More
