Great food, beer, and hard cider with excellent waitstaff. Generous portions and good selections of top end food and moderate prices.

Yum yum yum! Great range of food options. I'm a vegetarian and I had several yummy dishes to choose from. The food is well priced and hearty. There is a roaring fire place and great atmosphere. We did a Speights Brewery Tour and Lunch package - highly recommended.

The tour was brilliant, enjoyed every minute of it. The alehouse was beautifully set out and the decor fantastic. The tour is rather dry, the sampling at the end is well worth it. Building was under construction due to expansion so expect some dust and areas to be unavailable.

True enough we found their Speight beer was good. Seafood chowder was good and standard but nothing more than that. Perhaps we should try their meats in the future. It's definitely a good place to drop by and have a pint of beer
