My husband and I had dinner at Bistro Tartine last night. It was a last minute idea, but the wonderful Jason fitted us in anyway. The pate entree with crusty bread was perfect for a cold night and my steak cooked to perfection. The service? Attentive and friendly as always. I read a bad review below, and think someone must... Very nice food and the staff are very knowlegable. Bit pricey but you pay for what you get. Nice list of wines available also.

Food and service are nothing what they were. Farewell. I think it's changed hands, more is the pity Left half of my food as it was inedible. I ha written 100 characters and this won't let me submit

We had the chateau briand and slow-cooked pork belly. For dessert, we had the Belgian hot pot and apple tartin. All were excellent. We had originally ordered the duck confit but the waitress's got the order wrong and came with the pork belly which we accepted. We brought our 8 year old daughter and found that they did not have... Service and food were great . Lovely to see Jason leading this lovely little place back to the standard it was, way back in 2006. Well done team. See you soon.

I have reviewed this before. We had terrible service. This time the food and service was fantastic. It is very dark and very noisy. Its very poorly designed or constructed. And thats a shame.

We are so happy that Bistro Tartine is back on it's game! Do yourself a favour and try it again. We used to eat here years ago, it changed owners and the food and service became so appalling we swore never again. It has changed owners again so we thought we’d give it another try, and are so very pleased... More

We ate here for a romantic dinner on a busy Saturday and were impressed with everything. The food is excellent, their menu changes often and is one of the finer dining experiences in Newcastle. The ambiance is lovely but also relaxed, and the staff were efficient and friendly. The portion sizes were surprisingly generous given the higher quality of the... More

First time there we thought we would try it out with our Entertainment card, it was lunch time and not very busy , the waiter was lovely , very attentive , the place was very tidy and classic, we ordered the sour dough bread to start which came with butter but the waiter offered us balsamic vinegar and oil as... I loved the old Bistro Tartine. Then things changed. And I was sad. But now I am HAPPY again. Bistro Tartine, under the leadership of Jason is back to its best. The chicken liver pate and the steak with Cafe de Paris butter are better than ever. The service is exceptional, friendly, attentive and the wait staff know their food... More
