My partner had the pita pocket and we shared the $22.00 dish that has a bit of everything in it. Very nice meal. Good strong coffee. very friendly service. Healthy food too.

I went to the Fat Camel with a friend while I was staying in Whangarei. I was not expecting to eat such tasty and well presented food. Definitely well worth a vist!

The service and food was great until we had finished our main and were contemplating having dessert. The staff decided it was time to sit down in the restaurant and eat their dinner and ignore the few patrons they had so we paid up and left. The food was great, the portions were ample just a pity we were completely... More

We stopped by for a quick coffee for the grown ups and hot chocolate for the kids. The chocolate fudge brownie was a little hard to resist and thank goodness because it was so yummy. Nice atmosphere, interesting pics around the walls. Meal menu looks good, would come back.

Not a city in which one might expect to find an Israeli food place, but typical Israeli street/cafe food, well-prepared and decent portions. Some outside tables. Probably the cheapest (good) coffee in Whangarei.

I can't fault this restaurant - great service, delicious meals and outstanding value. We shared a platter and had a small kebab each - there was more than enough food and it was fresh, tasty and imaginative. Pleasant indoor/outdoor setting in a bit of a restaurant quarter - if these guys branch out, they'll take over the world....

We had been told to go to Quality Street to eat by our hosts at the B&B. We decided to try the Fat Camel and had a very nice meal at an incredibly low price (for New Zealand). The service was fast and friendly, but the food was by no means "fast food" - it was excellent. We sat outside... More

We were told about Fat Camel by Bloom Flowers proprietors. So glad we went. Much healthier, more ambient, more tasty, more nutricious, more filling than any fast food restaurant and a comparable price. Great customer service and loved being able to sit out in the gorgeous strand courtyard. A piece of Europe in Whangarei?

I've been here a couple of times now, and cannot rave about it enough. The thing that keeps us going back is the quality and value for money. We went out for dinner last night and 2 adults 2 children (under 5) went away full on $32, and best of all we felt like we had had a fresh, healthy... More
