Very good service with very good food at a very acceptable price! I eat here every time I'm in Whangarei
The food was fresh and tasty. Only issue was my pork was slightly over-cooked. I was surprised the place was not busier as the food is good value.
Went here with friends for a meal. Service was quick and efficient. The food was similar to what I have eaten in Japan, so was very happy to have food that had not been changed to suit NZ tastes. The food was fresh and plenty of it for a good price.
We eat here pretty reguiarly but with the improvement in the Whangarei restaurant scene, there's lots of choice now. I believe it's run by Koreans, anyway you get bulgogi with most things. Good food and they don't charge the earth for unagi (eel) like some places
I ordered a teriyaki chicken meal on a hot plate. Normally I expect this meal sizzling when its served. Food was luke warm as if the chicken had been precooked and they just poorer warm teriyaki sauce over it, salad was only cabbage/lettuce, rice was cold as well.
Service is great, food is excellent. A change from the Indian and Chinese's restaurants Whangarei seems to be full of . Everyone enjoyed their meals and with the set menus it gave one a good taste of Japanese cooking.
The place to go to enjoy dining in peace and quiet. Consistently lovely friendly staff. The meals are nice, tasty and well presented. Stay in Quality Street forever!
Had a very nice meal there, it was well presented and tasted great.
You could share a Bento box for lunch for two as they are cooked from scratch, plentiful with lots of variety. We always say we will share and then end up getting one each. Usually quiet at lunchtime - and parking is easy in Vine Street.
Went to Asahi with a friend for a quiet meal.
Staffed by very friendly and efficient waiting staff who were waiting to greet customers as we arrived.
We were guided to our table which was simply decorated with chopsticks two glasses and serviettes.
We were given the menu to peruse which has an extensive range of japanese cuisine.
