Last time I ate here it was winter and the converted former kitchens of the Hotel Europejski were warm and comforting. On a recent hot day in May, I sat outside on the decking terrace overlooking the green open spaces of Ogrod Saski, grateful for the shade of the big parasols. On my first visit I splashed out on the... More

My first visit to this traditional joint in the centre of Warsaw where you sit and eat in the middle of the kitchen where they prepare the food. The Hotel/restaurant is really old in the nice thing is that they have kept the interior decoration without much touching-up.... The food is served straight from the pots and pans. Great staple... Warsaw is certainly not a hot spot when it comes to innovative dining concepts or exceptionally good food. U Kucharzy which means like at the Chef´s place is however an exception. Great location in downtown Warsaw. The restaurant itself is actually placed in the former kitchen of the hotel which is not run as a hotel anymore. That means you... More

This is the place locals and tourists alike insist one goes to sample a hipper side of Warsaw. It was a lot of fun for people watching and the energy is electrifying. As for the food, my fish soup was amazing, the duck underwhelming (too tough, not juicy or crispy enough), and the meringue cake delicious. My wife's meal was... More

We really enjoyed our dinner here. The food was good but nothing special. But the interier and the way they serve the food is fantastic. The food is prepared at small working stations in front of you. The kitchen itself is fully open and part of the dining area, which consists of many smaller rooms. The service is a bit... More

Great place located in sprawling kitchens of old hotel in downtown Warsaw. It's meant to be a throwback and (as an upscale theme restaurant) it doesn't disappoint. Steak tartare done at the table was fun as was the pianist whiling away in another room. Like a labyrinth down there! Service is rough around the edges, but that's the vibe -... More

We visited here for an evening meal in April 2013 as part of a 4-day trip to Warsaw. Having read positive reviews about this place, I was not disappointed. The atmosphere is very cool, being set in an old hotel kitchen. The menu offered tastes for different palates and, as expected, our food was delivered by chefs and served up... More

I looked forward to visiting this known restaurant. It was somewhat disappointing. Smoking is allowed in the bar. The service was slow and non-professional. The food was average. Three stars are given for the atmosphere.

What a fun restaurant. In the former kitchen, with white tile walls and concrete floor, this restaurant serves very good food with a smiling, helpful staff. We ate here two nights and enjoyed both.

U Kucharzy used to be one of my favorite spots in Warsaw – located in the kitchen of old hotel Europejski gave quite a distinct vibe to the place and the somewhat moody staff just added to the charm. It felt fun, new and genuine. Not to mention the food – maybe not innovative as U Kucharzy serves traditional Polish... More
