We loved Borkonyha Winekitchen. We didn't have a reservation, but it was no problem. The service was friendly and generous (good English). The meal was delicious and beautifully presented. The flavors were wonderful and the quality of the ingredients very good. The wine list was impressive and my husband and I had a wonderful selection of local wines & palinka... More

We had a wonderful meal at Borkonyha. We didn't have a reservation, but were warmly welcomed and seated nonetheless. The service was attentive, but friendly and informative (English spoken). The meal was delicious and beautifully presented. The flavours were wonderful and the quality of the ingredients very good. The wine list was impressive and my husband had a wonderful selection... Our food was fantastic. My husband started with the white asparagus soup floowed bby whole roasted branzino with ratatoulie. I started with egg noodles with pea tendrils and sprouts followed by chicken and quail served over beluga lentils with peas and sundried tomatoes. I cannot eat dairy and the restaurant had no problem accomodating. The waiter was attentive, spoke perfect... More

In the nice pedestrian area of the Pest part of the city, you can find this small restaurant which I highly recommend to all wine lovers. Food menu is not extensive at all. However quality of the products is high and the way they are cooked is simple and excellent at the same time. Chapter apart deserves the wine selection...... More

This restaurant was the highlight of our culinary tour of Budapest. It's that good. Two of us had starters (white asparagus in tarragon cream & salad) main (almond encrusted cod and grilled breast of veal), desserts (chocolate sponge cake and basil ice cream) plus five glasses of Hungarian wine for around $125. What a bargain for one of the most... More

We went there last night on a suggestion from tripadvisor.com. We were very surprised at how undervalued this place was. The ambiance is very cozy. #1. You can sit outside to in, inside is cozier on colder days. The wine selection is amazing, #1, and the staff are very generous to let you try many wines. Beer and Licquor is... More

We had an amazing late lunch last August. Good selection of wines, excellent food, and a decent service. Make sure you save some space for a desert--I definitely did not want to share. The fish soup was one of the best soups I ever had.

This was one of the highlights of our long weekend in Budapest. Wow! Delicious food, great service and superb wines. The venison was top notch. We also enjoyed the luxury of not having to choose the wines but allowed the waiter to choose the best wines for each of our chosen courses. This resulted in the perfect accompaniment to each... Very fresh and very tasty lunch on Monday afternoon. Frendly service with nice atmosphere made our day. I wonder how I would place my words if we had some wine...! Loved the place!!
