I ordered the steak topped with crab meat, bearnaise sauce and asparagus. It came with some lovely vegetables. altogether a memorable meal. The steak was perfect and so tender that you could cut it with your fork.

I was shocked to be spoken to rudely by heavily aproned staff at this upscale restaurant. She called me "Dear" when I was asked for coffee. When I told her off later she didn't respond. She gives the place a bad name!

Excellent service and a delicious ribeye. Wollensky salad was huge, but it isn't that great. Also, the fries and onion rings were just OK.

I was lucky enough to attend a private party at Smith & Wollensky and the food was amazing. The service was great, food, drinks and atmosphere were excellent and I cannot wait to get back there again!

The waiters were very attentive at the same time I never felt they were in my face. Food was very good as well and they had a decent selection of wines. I am sure I will visit again the next time I am in DC.

I had dinner at Smith & Wollensky with a group of six colleagues on a business trip. Although we didn't have reservations on a Friday night, we were greeted in a really friendly way by the maitre d' (who also checked in with us at the end of the meal) and seated in a special room with a glass wall... We were visiting DC and after the experience at S&W in NYC, I wanted to go here for a birthday dinner. While the overall experience was great, as someone else stated our waiter was a bit to hands off. Seems he would disappear for to long on more than one occasion. The steak was not melt in your mouth as... More

it may have been the portion mismatch that made our experience in this restaurant as something as average. By the time we finished the split pea soup, I thought dinner has to end. Considering that there has been a sense of regret not finishing up the whole dry aged T-bone, I am convinced that it was the supposed the best... More

We had 8 people -- all with different tastes -- and everyone enjoyed! Even the kids loved their meals! Those who had steak really enjoyed it. The rest of us ordered fish and were NOT disappointed. Rarely does a steak house prepare fish well but S+W did NOT disappoint! The tuna, the salmon, calamari, shrimp, etc were all very tasty.... More

Overall I had a pleasant experience, mostly due to good company. The dry aged T-bone was very good. The sides (mushrooms, asparagus, baked potato) were only so-so. The waiter was professional and knowledgable, but perhaps a bit too hands off. I enjoyed the atmosphere, really old school which made for a warm, relaxed environment. I'd give the restaurant an above... More
