This place is a time warp, small, crowded and overpriced. Meat was undercooked, water glasses are tiny and you are elbow to elbow with everyone around you. Friendly service does not make up for it.

My less than exuberant review is not due to the food. We were here with a group of 8 for the 6:30 seating. The other reviewers here describe the place well so I won't rehash that. The menu is heavy on big cuts of meat and potatoes with only one fish and one chicken dish. My husband and I split...

Having been to the Old Place for Sunday Brunch previously, wanted to try them for dinner so made a reservation for 4 for the 6:30 PM seating. You of course know this is really a bar where they serve food and have three seatings: 4:30, 6:30, and 8:30 pm. Arrived a bit early and waited, and waited and waited for...

This is as authentic as you can get. They tell you what to expect, and then they deliver. We loved our experience at this unique eating spot. It has all of the character of a back country eatery, but it is only minutes off the freeways. I am sure that it is essential to make a reservation since this is...

It was a family triple birthday celebration. We ventured up into the canyons of Agoura Hills to The Old Place and the Cornell Winery. What a treat! Wood sided structure with a wood porch and a swinging screen door....a reminder of the Old West! Before our dinner reservation we visited the winery. It is rustic with amazing contemporary art on...

This was our second visit here (our first was a quick drink) after our first visit we knew we had to come back and have dinner. The service was excellent and the food, beer and atmosphere is as well. We sat at the bar and enjoyed meeting locals and other visitors and chat to the bar tender - such friendly...

The Old Place looks like an old wild west saloon from the movies - hewn out of wood and plopped in the middle of the Santa Monica Mountains off Mulholland Hwy. It is quite small, with a bar and a few tables, but a kitchen that rocks.
Food was surprisingly good, beer selection was decent, and overall, the place was...

I took my husband on a day trip to Agoura Hills and we had breakfast at The Old Place. It's small and rustic, but a fun place for something different! Plus, actors and actresses come here to "hide out." The food was just okay, but the amiance made up for it. The Cornell Winery is next door and beautiful Paramount...

This place, (OLD PLACE), will never make it as a "chain restaurant." That's the great news for those of us looking for an "off the beaten path" experience. We were on vacation in Thousand Oaks and guided to Old Place by a local. A 'guide' is helpful since it is NOT just off the Freeway. The three of us had...

This place is a hidden gem. Any visit to Malibu will be better if you make sure to have a meal here. The staff is friendly, fun, and accessible. Breakfast offerings are limited, but delicious: Frittatas are served in iron skillets. Pancakes made with corn meal, not flour. This place is 5 star.
