Nice restaurant, liked the poisson en papillote. My wife had a fish in coconut stew which was also very good. Come late if you enjoy the company of other customers.
Food here is pretty good, fish en papilotte is excellent, as are the chicken dishes - although they seem to run out of things like chicken on a regular basis which is a bit of a frustration. Service is better than average for Bujumbura. Overall its a little pricy compared to rivals but it is reliably good.

Rooms are elegant, well designed with a single tick down for the climb to the shower. Flat screen TV with hundreds of stations....as long as municipal electricity is working. Restaurant was absolutely marvelous with two meals that could have been served at the Culinary Institute in NYC. Atmosphere and architecture inspiring....true to its name
In the food opportunities in bujumbura, Botanika is probably the best choice. Jazz Club atmosphere, nice accomodations, surprising wine's list, beatiful dishes presentation. Maybe is better to not choose pizza (they don't know how to prepare it..) but you can order any other proposal without doubts.
This is one of THE places for expats and visitors in Bujumbura; the cuisine is considered as one of the best in town. And among the expats, the fish in papillote is considered as THE best in town. if you live in a non-foodie East African country you'll die of joy when you get here. And the service is supersonic for the region. We particularly recommend the Mig salad, which has much more fried meat than green leaves, and the whipped goat's cheese, which looks like two bosoms.
Wonderful food... excellent choice of fresh, international cuisine (french/belgian/local influences). Very good service, and intimate ambiance with a good drinks menu too. My only regret is that they don't have a restaurant in Kigali (subtle hint to the owners!...). Enjoy... Bon appetit!
