This place has probably the best internet in all of Bhutan - i.e. 1 kb/s (they anyway warn you not to use Skype because of high charges). The owner is always there (and his wife, the other owner) and they are very helpful in providing information and giving great service. They are closed on Mondays, but even on that day... More

Ambient Cafe on Main Street (Norzin Lam) has excellent coffee (better than what I usually can find in the USA). Place has a pleasant vibe, with music, books and magazines and friendly clients, both Bhutanese, tourists, and expats. The owner Letho and wife Juno are super nice and can answer all your questions about Thimphu and Bhutan. Not a full... More

Ambient Cafe is the place where expats enjoy their coffee and chitchat. The coffee menu and taste are probably the best here in Bhutan. The cake some really enjoyable. The barista and owner is very friendly.

This cafe is Thimphu's hub for many westerners, some of whom stay in the attached hotel upstairs. The owner/manager Letho and his family welcome every new face and will answer any question about the city. The food is simple and delicious.

Very friendly, great food and clean. In a great location and definitely worth a visit. Very easy to strike up conversations up others. Coffee is the best in town, along with the ginger honey tea, yum!

The Ambient serves real coffee in many tasty guises, including americano, espresso, latte, machiato etc. The hot chocolate is pretty good too. Sandwiches and wraps are served with salad and what I would term a garnish of french fries. Tasty and quick, and no one is rushing you out the door. There is free wifi which is very useful, especially... More

A very comfortable place to go for lunch or coffee, tea and dessert. The food is simple and good--sandwiches, french fries and great desserts. You can sit and relax from the hustle of Thimphu, use the free wifi and meet with friends and colleagues is a very relaxed atmosphere. Sooner or later most expats and tourists stop by. Many use...
