Xiaolongbao are my favorite thing to eat in the world, and in my hometown of Boston I've probably eaten them at every place that sells them. So clearly when I came to Taipei this place was on the top of my list The staff here were WONDERFUL, with everyone I encountered speaking near-impeccable english (a rarity in Taipei!) and everyone... Food is great and some even surpassing Singapore's branches in some dishes. The signature 小籠包 is a must try!! The other must try is the 芋泥小籠包.. It is sweeter and the skin is not as thick as the Singapore's version.. However, the 排骨炒饭is not as tasty as Singapore's version though.. Overall, it is worth your visit and don't worry, the... More

This is the original store and still has the best dumplings. Save some room for the appetizers--they were all excellent. If you don't want to wait, go around 8 or 8:30pm. The peak dinner time in Taipei is 6:30-7 and there was always a long line during the peak time. The drawback of going late is that some of the... More

Simply the best Xiaolongbao on the planet. There isn't even a close 2nd. The service was friendly and efficient, and while we had about a 30 minute wait for a table, the atmosphere made it fly by.

I find their fried dumplings and shrimp fried rice the best...though we did tried many of their best seller. Went on a monday late afternoon, so no need to queue. Restaurant is small, but clean and staff are efficient. Don;t go during weekends and peak meal times as the line is very long, even if you tabaoed, also need to... More

This chain should be the subject of a Harvard Business School study. How is it that you can have more than 70 restaurants, very consistent and high-quality food and a delightful wait staff? What is it they do at Din Tai Fung that others can’t seem to replicate? The only downside is that you often have to wait a bit... More

Went on Friday early lunch around 11-ish and managed to get seats for 3 quite fast. The food was so-so, with the xiaolongbao good but not fantastic. This goes for most of the food. The dumplings with the chilli sauce was nice though. Loved the service, they were so polite, helpful and attentive.

Sometimes I wonder if after you become a worldwide hit, your quality of food goes down... Din tai feng is not one of them. Their soup dumplings pork and crab, as well as their beef noodle soups are still so well made like 15 years back when they were just known to the locals in xinyi district in taipei. As... More

You have to have the soup dumplings. Little pockets of joy! I also had pot stickers that were uniquely served stuck on a sheet of crunchy fried dumpling skin, stir fried green beans, and peanut noodles. I was by myself, so I was able to order 1/2 orders. One of the staff was wonderful in helping me order. Service was... More

This is the flagship and first Din Tai Fung, which is now an international chain. You have to take a number and wait outside, but line moves quickly as there are three floors of this restaurant and the service is very efficient. You must have the juicy dumplings. The place is fast and informal. Excellent food at a very good... More
