If you want to try traditional Taiwanese food, this is one of the best places in Taipei to go. There are a number of branches. The best food is still the flagship store (34 Shuangcheng Street), but the one with the best atmosphere/view is on the 85th floor of the 101 Building. Dishes worth trying are pan-fried turnip omelette; seafood... More

Went to the one at Xin Guang San Yue 8th flr. The sweet potato porridge was simple but very heartwarming and yummy. So were the chai po omelette, braised fatty pork, steamed minced pork with salted egg yolk, etc. Give it a shot!

SOOO YUMMY! Brought here by a local who swears by the food and is another classic (along with Din Tai Fung) of Taiwan. The service is TOP quality and the food is to die for. We had a tofu dish, fish with some sort of pepper and black bean sauce, this specialized sausage, hot and sour soup (SO GOOD) and... More

I am a sucker for Taiwanese food and you cannot get these types of food in the US. So when I go to Taiwan, this place is a MUST visit. They are not cheap, but not too expensive either. However, you cannot get the quality and taste from anywhere else. Every time I went there, I end up with full... More

Straightforward Taiwanese fare. Order the classics and you won't go wrong. (Refer to the feedback of other reviewers for a list of dishes.) I've visited 3 different branches on 2 trips to Taipei, and the food at the Shuangcheng Huiguan branch was best. (Comparatively, food at the Shuangcheng and Zhongxiao branches were so-so, and I'm not sure why -- at... More

With all the things that you can eat in this place, we settled from some that we got from the blogs. Some were great and some weren't. GREAT: The turnip omelette was really good. Ask for the sweet potato porridge. It goes perfect together. Get also the anchovies and peanuts (ordered and finished 2). Order also the Pomfret with Garlic.... More

We ate at the pioneer restaurant at Twins street . We were served by a helpful jovial waiter. As we tried only 6 dishes from the menu it is hard to form a full opinion. The pork trotters was 100 % fat with hardly any lean meat(the gravy and veg were tasty), the turnip with eggs, squid balls, yam rolls, sausages, oyster... More

We were ther for family gathering dinner on Dec.26,'11, srevice and food were very good. From the beginning, they have elevating rail on the side of stairs for handicapped person, that's very thoughtful. The food was top-notched, no doubt about it. I've been there sevaral times, it seems the quantities of food per plate was decreased. I like to remind the... More

Very good original Taiwanese food. Locals won't usually go to Shin Yeh but this is one of the best choice for tourists.
