Every dish I ordered here was fantastic- I ate here 3 times during my stays in Bangkok. The place is nothing to look at and the owner is standoffis at first. She warms up after the meal. If you want good food, you will not be disappointed.

I have visited Chote Chitr in the past, and enjoyed it. However, I returned after my last visit about two years ago and was thoroughly disappointed.
Everything you read in these reviews is true: one can have very good food here, and the place is filthy.
I am not squeamish about eating in Thailand. I devour durian and street food...

The green curry with chicken was quite good, but a little more different that what my Western tastebuds are used to from all of the Thai restaurants at home which probably use more sweet coconut milk in them. The taste profile was still the same however. One other noticeable difference was the vegetables used in the curry. It was good...

I am one of the biggest food snobs you will find, I think everything is bad, and I loved this place. One of the best meals I have had and definitely the best Thai food I have had. Blows out everything else I had on my trip. Very difficult to find but absolutely worth the effort. Had no problem being...

Went twice during a one-week stay in Bangkok — having the misfortune to be lodged in horrendous but nearby Khao San Road certainly contributed to that.
This restaurant has quite a reputation among foreign foodies. In my opinion, it is largely deserved. I don't knwo if it indeed is Bangkoks best restaurant, but for sur it was the best I...

Having lived in Bangkok for 4 months now (where there are no other foreigners) I've had my fair share of authentic Thai food. That being said, the food was pretty good, not too pricey either. I think most dishes were around 100baht. The restaurant is also in one of my favorite neighborhoods, a great place to walk around before of...

We had read about this restaurant and decided to try to find it for lunch. It is certainly hidden away and unassuming when you get there! It only has a few tables and is run by a lovely (if somewhat fierce!) elderly Thai lady. We had read that they did fantastic river prawns so that is what we had and...

It took a bit of an effort to get the taxi driver to this small restaurant on Thanon Phraeng Phuton, but once in we had the greatest Thai food experience since a long time. As other reviewers mentioned the kind of harsh approach of owner Tim, we experienced that she was more than willing to explain everything about the food...

One day near the end of a four-month stay in Bangkok, we were lookikng for a place for lunch and stumbled upon this place on a Saturday afternoon. The place is small and does not look promising, but the food was great. We had a green mango salad, chicken stir-fried with ginger, and deep-fried fish. It was the best food...

If you can get past her gruff exterior, and take a few of her food recommendations, you will be VERY pleased with your meal here! We ordered the banana flower salad, the yellow curry prawns and an amazing crispy noodle dish. One of the best Thai meals we have had in Bangkok!!
