Friendly staff, nice atmosphere and good food. That said I do not enjoy being cheated when the bill comes. According to People who know happens often late in evening and staff feel embarrassed.

The oldest and once most popular Italian restaurant in Bangkok is not even a shadow of its former self. Depressing lack of customers and very mediocre food and service. Shabby and sad it is best avoided.

There are about 300 Italian Restaurants in Bangkok. The Opera was opened many years ago by Mr Rossano, who now owns Rossano's Restaurant in Bangkok. Whilst I prefer Rossano's, the Opera is a proper, reasonably priced Italian Restaurant.

Since 18 years I travel every year to Bangkok. Everytime I dine at least once at l'opera. I always look forward to it, since the food and the service are both outstanding. Last wednesday in a party of 4, all agreed that the dishes each had, were delicious. Gnocchi and filet gorgonzola, crab meat salat, spaghetti vongole, saltimbocca milanese. tiramisu... More

I have been enjoying Opera for 10+ years. The food is good and the service is friendly..if you can get by the grimy exterior and find the entrance. If you were driving by Opera and new to Bangkok you would never figure this for a restaurant..The exterior is shabby with a faded theater marquee announcing the restaurant's presence and a kitchen... Not perfect but if you want to satisfy your craving for pasta and Italian style seafood or any of your favorites born in Italy, L'Opera is great.

One of my favourite Italian restaurants in Bangkok. Although the chef changes regularly, the food has always been of a consistently high quality. Service is outstanding and most dishes are very affordable (by European standards). Would definitely recommend this restaurant to people spending a lot of time in Bangkok and looking for something different

Old stand by for good italian food. Small parking area is much appreciated in this busy Suk 39 neighborhood. Quiet and dark interior is great for a nice meal with family, low key business, or quiet romantic night. Good service and excellent staff.

There was a piece of broken glass in my panna cotta. Luckily I am the type who would wait for panna cotta to melt to savour the taste. I felt something hard so I spat it out straight away and it was a piece of glass! The manager refused to come and see us with the excuse that he is... More
