I ate there a couple of times and the fish was superb, probably the best food I had in Tonga. Prices are reasonable and the menu is pretty good

Super friendly atmosphere, close to everything with a good bottle store and shopping at your convenience. The coffee was excellent, as well as the passion fruit cheesecake! Free half hour Internet as well! Perfect spot.

Had a lovely breakfast at Escape cafe! It was our last day in Tonga and we decided to have a nice breakfast/brunch before heading to the airport. The place was really nice and cool, it was so hot outside and the air-conditioning was amazing. The service was really fast and friendly. We expected the food to come a lot slower... More

Great food (except I found I cannot stomach mahi-mahi!), friendly service, meals arrive quite quickly, excellent coffee, nice and central location and the aircon is definitely a winner!

Cafe Escape is busy every lunchtime - and whilst not outstanding, is one of the best in Nukualofa. Food is fairly expensive, but so are all the other cafes in town - same prices as places like Auckland and Sydney. The samosas, chicken teriyaki rolls and grilled moroccan fish kebabs are all good.

we ordered two brekkies. The eggs tasted of vinegar and other than that had no flavour. Sausages were unusual tasting. Otherwise coffee was good and cheesecake divine. The $1 charge for skim milk was unusual in buying coffees. The service was good and it was only the food that made us hesitant to return as it cost us $63 for... More

Air conditioning, food good value, though not outstanding. Handy central location. Efficient staff. Popular place to rest a while.

Loved the food here , especially the breakfast ! Meal portions are small for what you pay for but it's nice to escape the Tongan food when you miss your home food . Service is okay .... It's nice to surf the net whilst waiting for a meal on the wireless which is always a plus for me as I... More

Service here leaves a lot to be desired. A pricey place to eat. Dishes are not the Tongan size that you will get most places. You could definitely walk away hungry if you spend less than AU$20 or 40 Pa'anga. The deserts are nice but not gourmet quality. There are many other places for a nice lunch but if aircon... More

This is Friends with air-con, as other reviewers have noted, with good café fare and wonderful air-con if you’ve been sweating it out around town. But the menu is less varied and relies heavily on pannini and wraps, and Friends wins hands down in the ambience stakes. Service is also a little down here, especially at the counter, but they...
