Drinks were well priced and quickly served. Beef and pork dishes were very tough and when i asked the waiter to please ask the chef if he has a tender piece of pork they brought back the same piece of meat after it had just been flashed on the grill again. I then stated that i don't want this as... More

I was actually excited to have lunch at this restaurant and left with the thought... "Well, that was nice but not really that great." So- I was let down. The property has a great feel and the waiters are well trained. The menu is extensive with both western and asian food. After a chat with the waiter I ordered the... More

Menu changes by the day so limited choice. Good food, my set lunch main came with a pot of tea and shortbread. Dessert was also good. Great service in a colonial setting, very tropical.

Highly recommended place to eat. We went for lunch and had fish cake salad and lentil tofu curry with tamarind. Try the lychee juice with mint - lovely.

I ordered a simple pasta and 1 can of beer in this restaurant. Pasta was nothing special, and i had to pay 3000 Kyats (about $3.5 dollars) for a small beer can. That is just outrageous in this country. They even add 20% to the bill, of which 10% is service charge. Well I am sure the waiters don't get... More

This restaurant will make you fall in love with the Burmese cuisine. It is the best Southeast Asian restaurant I have been to and it is a joy for all those interested in the culinary treats.

Was recommended as a place for good food. We went there and ordered Western food, big mistake. I was told later that their Asian food is very good and it maybe is, but we didn't sample it this time. The Western food was overcooked and tasteless. I had chicken with some sort of sauce, the chicken was dry and barely... More

I was been there several time and the food is really so good... There are typical foods from whole Indochina and the staff is attentive and well trained. David is a clever person, very professional. The place is warm and well decorated...for me it's the best in Yangon... I love Monsoon!!! I will be there again soon!!!

The food was nice but overpriced. I ordered the same dish - grilled prawns in restaurants in Mandalay and Pindaya, not only the price charged by Monsoon was 30% higher than the other two restaurants but the portion I got was just half the size of the other two orders. In other words, the charge was actually 60-70% higher. Although... More

Seems to be a common problem in Yangon (Myanmar).. chefs have this over fascination with smothering everything in oil? Had the Pad Thai which obviously came from an oil paddy. Now with the influx of coaches and tourists.. this is one restaurant to avoid.
