Well, Koshary abo Tariq, as said in its famous song" The origin of koshary is koshary abo tariq", well, never mind the song as it is really annoying =D, but if you are a koshary fan, or if you are coming to Egypt in a visit, don't forget to swing by and get a tasty meal of the most famous... More

We ate here during our day tour in Cairo because the restaurant had been reviewed and recommended by Anthony Bourdain on the Travel Channel. Note that it is not a fancy restaurant, it is a local restaurant. But it is clean and vegetarian, so relatively safe by local standards. Koshary is a traditional Egyptian meal of pasta, rice and lentils,... More

First time to eat koshary - and it was delicious! Ate on the top floor - just head straight up stairs and find an empty table. It seems to always be busy here. There's only one item to order, plus soft drinks and a desert. If you havent eaten koshary before..... There are three silver containers on each table: hot... More

This place has been serving the best Koshary in Egupt for as long ad I could remember (over 25 years). Not sure why the owner decided not to have other branches but they could print cash if they want to. Two thumbs up!

just went to this place since it's close to my hotel, and I wasn't disappointed.a lot of local people eating here, and the price is Egyptian too. go to second floor if you want to seat, first floor is just for to-go. Note that for solo woman travelers, you might be stared a lot.. but it's not dangerous, they are... More

As the my title claims, the place is like a palace for serving "koshri", yet its "koshri" tastes the same as any other "koshri" served from an ordinary "koshri" restaurent.

I would hit Abou Tareks at least once a week when I was working in Downtown Cairo. This is simply one of the best koshary eateries in Cairo. For 5LE you can get a huge portion of Egypt's finest add the salsa and garlic and lemon and you're sorted. As the sign says there are no other branches. A portion... More

I am Egyptian so I know very well what Koshary is all about! It is a great Traditional Dish, very well prepared there BUT if you have a weak stomach DO NOT TRY IT!

The koshari was freshly prepared and very delicious! this national dish should not be missed! It is customary for Egyptians to pay prior to eating. Be prepared for this or ensure that you have a guide that would be able to communicate with the locals.
