We, the British, consider curry to be our national dish and I have been to numerous Indian restaurants here in the UK. The food at this restaurant is at another level. We managed to find this restaurant through our taxi driver whilst staying at the south coast - what a find! We had prawns masala, chicken masala and butter chicken... More

A visit to Mombasa is not complete without a visit to the Singh. The restaurant has an air-conditioned room which is a treat to get into from the heat and humidity of the coastal town.the décor is very simple and dated but the restaurant is clean. The food is good and for every meal you get all you can eat naan...great... An average restaurant serving Indian cuisine.Getting parking can be a challenge during peak hours.Food served is a la carte. The interesting thing about this restaurant is that guests pay for the curries while the chapatis(Indian pastry) is not charged for an unlimited number of chapatis. There is an area for both air conditioning and without air conditioning.Waiters are courteous.

The food really is excellent. If they would tone down the Indian music a bit, it would be perfect! Even their raita is yummy!

I have always loved the chicken masala...prawns masala and khima curry...love the hot hot chapatis that are non stop...a cold glass of lassi and you have had the best meal! Very reasonably priced too!

We arrived here after visit Fort Jesus and found this place on our way to booking our bus tickets with CoastBus. Restaurant is very simple but nice; very clean (the toilets always gives away whether a restaurant maintains itself so that was great). Food was brilliant. After trying some other restaurants near the hotels with little satisfaction, we were impressed... More

Age old Mombasa institution offering no nonsense Indian punjabi food. Dont expect ambiance or classy furnishings here. I also like the fact that the washrooms have a non contact soap dispenser, non contact tap and state of the art hand dryer very good to clean hands after wolfing down a curry

I've been going to Singhs since I was born. It's an institution in Mombasa. Don't expect heavy, creamy and buttery curries, rahter expect home-made simple curries as they would be made in Sikh houses. Simply excellent. Whether you order the fish masala, prawns masala, mari chicken, mutton curry or the daily vegetarian menu, everything is freshly prepared and simply delicious.... More
