My wife is gluten free. This makes traveling in China a bit of a challenge given that soy sauce contains gluten. So one night we opted for Western food. So if you are looking for Western food in Beijing, it is definitely worth considering Capital M Capital M is tucked a way in a slightly hard to find building very... More

Capital M doesn't seem to be well known, and even though it's close to Tianmen Square it's not easy to find. But it's worth it! Great food, good atmosphere, even though a bit western.

After five days doing business in Beijing we decided that we wanted to eat good western food so our consultant took us to Capital M. Be aware that it isn't an easy place for taxis or drivers to find so it pays to get clear directions before going there. It is in a great location with good views of the... More

I took a group here for a formal business dinner. The venue lived up to its name and with great service and great food I will certainly bring more groups here. The maitre'd was very welcoming and flexible and the wine list was quite good for Beijing and fairly priced. I found that Capital M will be my "go to"... More

We had high expectations for this place, but realistically the food is average and priced simply for the view. After being left to review the menu, we found out that our first 3 choices were not available - it would have been good of them to indicate what actually WAS available before we started! We found the food to be... More

This is a very glamorous place indeed. From the moment you enter, you know you are in for a great evening. It is not cheap, but it is well worth every yuan spent. The decor is very funky and always offers something interest to look at. The terrace overlooks Tiannemen Square - no better view in Beijing. The menu is... More

I had a brunch on a Saturday. The weather was great so we sat outside in the patio. The atmosphere was great. We ordereed food and drinks. The cocktails were very average, nothing special at all. The better choice would have been a beer. The food was tasty but not exceptional. What we really enjoyed was the dessert; the whole... More

We went late for dinner on a rainy night. And we were 30 minutes late because we couldn't get a taxi. And the one we did get dropped us more than 5 minutes brisk walk The restaurant is a bit tricky to find which added to the bad start we were having. But once we arrived it was fine. Although... More

Capital M is one of the expensive restaurants in Beijing. But expensve in Beijing can not be compared to what it would cost you a similar restaurant in Europe, specially if you stay away from wine that in China is always overpriced. We decided to dine with cocktails and even if we spent the same amount that if we would... More

This place certainly has the wow factor when you walk out on the terrace at night and look out over Tian'anmen Square. It's a lovely setting for an al fresco meal with friends/family. The food was great too, but possibly a bit too pricey. I've eaten in its sister restaurant, M on the Bund, and found the menus very similar,... More
