It's a Chinese restaurant, but focussed on the "Western" community. So the food is a bit "westernised". For me, this is the perfect combination. Nice atmosphere, excellent choice of food, great Peking duck by the way. Start with a drink at the bar. There are two floors: I prefer the lower one as the seating is a bit more "stylish".... More

I went for business dinner with a group of 8 to the China Club again last week, my third visit in 8 years. Most of our party were locals. You notice immeidately that about 80% of the guests are westerners. The entire club is somewhat like a projection of what could a retro-colonial guest house, with some modern China Art... More

Old French District atmosphere -- good food -- reservation through Amex. Food and wine option fine -- and not overwhelming. Decor reminiscent of early 20th century.

I have been coming here about once a year with my parents since it first opened in the 90's. Always with visitors to Hong Kong, and always knowing exactly what to expect. Food is not the focus here, and does not need to be. The menu is authentic Cantonese, but the food mediocre at best, but the site is wonderful.... More

The food is very good, well-presented by attentive staff and accompanied by good wine list. The ambiance is that of a traditional club but much less formal than it might once have been and with a 'buzz' created by the live entertainment and packed tables. A good night out and less expensive than I expected.

This club was supposedly very difficult to get in for dinner but our concierge was able to arrange this. There is alot of fanfare with demonstrations of cooking techniques, tea preparations etc. The clientel was 80% Westerners...all tourists. The service was "loose" and the food was "lousy" (pardon the alliteration).

Celebrating my birthday with close girlfriends, got to do it in style in the Chinese restaurant of the wonderful esteemed private Club. Whilst arriving at 8pm on a Saturday night the Central area seems deserted, you quickly realise that's because all the rich and famous are living it up at the China Club. Glorious food served with the right touch... More

On a recent trip to Hong Kong we were fortunate to be invited again to the China Club for dinner.Situated on the three floors of the old Bank of China it took me back to my first visit to Hong Kong over 50 years ago.Filled with priceless paintings it exudes the grace and grandeur of Colonial Hong Kong. The food... More

The Four Seasons was able to get us a Saturday brunch booking even though we are not members. The China Club is on a very high floor in the Bank of China building, and the views are only exceeded by the beauty of the room itself. The staff were very warm and accommodating, and treated us as if we were... More

Surprisingly the Hyatt Concierge was not able to book a table, but American Express secured a reservation... Ask for the 13th Floor (address indicated wrongly 12F on TA). Live music is played on 13th floor only... but visit the terrace on top for a cigar!
