The feeling when you step into the shop is like you have entered the past. Its like a old coffeeshop. Their Kaya toast is very nice. Be careful when you order coffee as theirs is quite strong.

Its hard enough for every one of us with a little bit of common sense to realise that a shop doing simply Toast but nth else will be so famous. and yet Ya Kun Kaya Toast is doing exactly that. Kaya is a type of jam or sauce if you like to spread on the toast. the bread is toasted... More

HI, Ya Kun is famous. Esp. if you have had the opportunity to taste those prepared by the founders - think crisp freshly toasted bread with butter and egg-coconut stew sandwiched in between - just heavenly. Sadly, while the chain is famous and nice, it is nowhere near that by the uncle and aunty who used to man the stores... More

The toast seems to get skimpier each time I visit. The size of the butter has been shrinking and the kaya gets thinner.

I visited the outlet at the Bugis junction mall and was truly amazed by its crispiness and taste. I prefer it to the Killeney Kopitiams any day. Full points to Ya Kun for maintaining the quality over the years and yes i did try and carry a few bottles of Kaya i bought from local store only to see it... More

A local business success story built on selling toasted bread with egg jam aka kaya with flavorful milk tea or coffee. A must try for tourists for breakfast or tea.

If you want to taste the quinessential Singapore breakfast of Kaya Toast (kaya - coconut jam), soft boiled eggs and local coffee or kopi, visit the closest outlet of Ya Kun you can find. The food is always good and very cheap, compared to coffee chains like Starbucks or others.
