A hidden gem. Thankfully not too many people know about The Colbar. Yes it did have to be picked up and moved after. Public outcry (some people do listen in Singapore!!!) and yes it is by far the best sausage eggs beans and chips on the island.

Food is pretty mediocre and prices high relative to any hawker centre, however if you want an authentic experience of what British squaddies got served back in the day, this is it. The location is unique, and the building retains the air of pre-development Singapore. Excellent bottled beer selection. Lots of greenery unlike the rest of Singapore. Good on a... More

Wide selection of choices from western to asian dishes. If you are into juicy chicken cutlet or steak with peas and beans with chips on the side or omelette with tomatoes, this your kinda place. Nice breezy open air alfresco seating where kids and pets are all welcome. A place to chill out after a big night out when greasy... More

Pretty oldschool and certainly an off-the beaten path experience for anyone wanting to approximate or even relive (if you are still alive) the dining experience of a British colonial master without having to go too far. I was quite fascinated by their quaint shop-library which had gigantic jars of pickled eggs that looked like they belonged to a different era

Love the setting...can live with the average food. At least, it's a place I can have breakfast at anytime of the day, or at night.

Simple but nice authentic taste. Chill out environment near my house. Nowadays challenging to park car along the slopes, and scared of dogs by the patrons.
