The restaurant's specialty is charcoal grilled beef. We had a wonderful S$300 plate of 800g Japanese Wagyu beef which consisted of tenderloin, sirloin, rib eye, tongue and other cuts. Apart from the ox tongue, all the other meat were cut into small 1.5 inch cubes for easy grilling. It was a wonderful and very satisfying meal. The meat was truly... More

We went there on a Saturday evening. I would say the food is oaky and fresh but it is overrated. The teppanyaki beef is tasteless. Overrall it is ok but I think It is overrated.

We ate here on our night in Singapore (stopover from Oz to London). I saw the restaurant mentioned in the Mr & Mrs Smith review of our hotel and decided to try it out. The food was nice and super fresh tasting sushi, however it was very expensive for Singapore prices and not sure I'd recommend a visit.

Set lunch is definitely worthy trying with afford price. You will also be surprised by the portion. Overall speaking, I'm fine to go back there and dine again.

I am a Japanese living in Singapore, and so far this is our favorite Japanese restaurant that we dont mind being a regular at. Like with all Japanese food in SIngapore, it is more expensive than other cusinies. However, Sun at Chimes has a good mix of expats, locals, and Japanese customers and the head chef is Japanese. Many of... More

I stopped by Chijmes on a reccomendaton from a local and my hunger got the better of me. I decided to go for the sushi in the hopes of something more authentic than what I get back in India. The Japanese Dining Sun addressed my hopes to some extent with good sushi, at a fairly affordable rate. Good place to... More

The ingredients were very fresh and though the prices were on the high side, it was worth every cent. Service was great, the waitress came promptly when we asked for extra wasabi. We didn't have to wait long before she gave us attention. I ordered the Sushi and Tempura set which came with 4 nigiri sushi consisting of tuna, one... More

Don't understand what all the hype is about - to me, food was mostly overcooked. However, can't really complain for the price we paid which was really reasonable for a Jap cuisine restaurant. Top marks for food presentation, though.
