It's worth the effort to find this very special restaurant in Quito. The taxi drivers might not know where it is, situated in a nice residential area, but Jaime welcomes you personally and shows you around his home, now a restaurant. It's full of beautiful possessions, lovely art and antiques and if you are lucky, he will take you to... More

The best restaurant in Quito. My dad took us there , and I fall in love with the service and the food. The house since you get in , is better than a museum. Most of the history of Quito is in that Restaurant.

Octava is a gem among all the restaurants in Quito. Jamie is the owner and server - such a nice guy. The place is full of local artwork - every wall is full and gorgeously designed. The food is phenomenal and the wine cave is a true treat to explore. It's not a cheap place - but has excellent value... More

Jaime is the most lovely host and will make the best recommendations as to wine pairings. My husband and I went for a VERY early dinner and had the place to ourselves so we were given a tour of all the antiques and art. Granted I know some Spanish but he is so gracious that you will have a wonderful... More

fantastic setting with bizarre mix of artwork. very friendly host and a great wine cellar - no list go view, discuss & chose. Wine was not expensive despite not asking prices to start. food was mixed some good some poor. from our experience avoid meat and stick to seafood.

This restaurant is in a house covered in art work. Not only on the walls, but on every available surface. Some of it is bizarre, but almost all extremely interesting. Because of the surroundings, it was pretty hard to concentrate on the food, but it was quite good, we had a set menu, as we were a small group of... More

We arrived at the door without a reservation to find the door locked though the sign said open. It turns out you have to ring the doorbell with the bell-pull (presumably the owner is protecting his artworks which are diplayed all over the restaurant). As with most Ecuadorian restaurants there is no menu displayed outside so you do not know... More

Together with a good friend I spent my last evening in Quito in this wonderful restaurant. The place is just a bit outside the old town center, and together with one other couple we were the only guests. THe owner is combining the roles of waiter, cook, wine expert and host in one, in a very charming and hospitable way.... More
