Very good food, and reasonably priced. Great place to hang out and meet both Gringos and Locals.

Very tourist/ex pat orientated, Kookaburra cafe was like a little slice of home in Ecuador - and sometimes that's just what you need when you're travelling for a while. This cafe also has rooms for rent which are very modern and spacious with a microwave, fridge and excellent coffee supplied for about $40.00 per night. Delicious sandwiches and breakfast and a warm, clean, inviting atmosphere. This is clearly an ex-pat spot and has Australian owners, so the food and service are what you would get in the US or Australia. Daily specials, great desserts, and menu in Spanish and English.

I was there once and I wasn't pleased with the food...

I go on Sundays because it is one of the few breakfast restaurants open in the a.m. on Sunday. They are in transition of ownership right now but I expect the new owners will keep everything the same including great service and great food in a warm and natural ambiance.
