Beware! The Bugaboo Bay is closed by October. Annoying because it is a little hike from the main part of Alexandria.
Bugaboo is one of our favorite restaurants to visit in Alexandria. Located across the street from Lake Le Homme Dieu, this Caribbean style restaurant has a nice lake view and a great outdoor bar with a large patio (patio located on the lake side of restaurant). This restaurant is also a local favorite of lake home owners and transient boaters,... More
This was a great place to relax and eat. The food choices are numerous but one should try the onion rings - they were super!! Great atmosphere, good service and good food, what more could you ask for.
Always a treat to sit at bug a boo and enjoy the outdoor seating and views of lake l'homme diu. A busy place in the summer and the opening of Zorbaz across the street has seemed to make it busier as more folks come to the area. You can even come by boat on the chain of lakes and tie... More
Reserved for 20 people for an Anniversary party. It took over 20 minutes for our drinks to come and several were wrong. Could understand if place was busy but was REALLY SLOW. Ordered or devours soon as walked in-still took 30 minutes and believe it or not drinks did not come until after or devours served-jeez. As it was a... More
we stopped in and had some great half off apps 3-6 every week night. Fun atmosphere and fun activities for our family

Our son ordered the onion rings---truly enough for all 5 of us (and he took the rest in a 'to go' box)! Half are dipped in a Blue Moon beer batter (light colored ones) and the other half... More
The experience at Bugaboo Bay was very poor due to the staff not making an effort to tell us we had to wait 60 minutes past are seating time as orders were not getting handled well on a medium to slow day. The waitress failed to communicate to us what was going on and we were finally asked by a... More
We love the Caribbean, and so the decor theme in this restaurant really appealed to us. The food was good; very large portions. The young waiter was attentive, although not overly warm and was unable to answer questions about the menu and drink selections. The restaurant could use a good cleaning, the carpeting looked like it had seen better days... More
I had been to Bugaboo Bay in 2005(ish) and the food was Awesome! Visiting the area again last summer and decided to have dinner there. Really hate to say it, but the food was really, really bad. We picked from the waitresses list of favorites: the Cuban Chicken Sandwich, and my boyfriend had Cajun Alfredo. Sandwich was soggy, and seemed... More
