They always have a good selection of Indonesian foods at unbelievably low prices. I wish there are more of them in other cities and countries. They always stack such a huge number of plates on their arms, it is always a sight to see.

A born and raised Indonesian, I've been fortunate enough to be able to travel quite extensively and eat good food from various amazing establishments around the world. However, this is the one kinda food I can not live without - whether it's called Padang or Minang. I absolutely love the Garuda franchise. You'll be presented with a lot of dishes... More

Often mistaken for the similar Padang cuisine, Garuda serves Minang food. The cooking style and ingredients are almost same, thus the inter-changed use of terms. Garuda is chain of authentic Minang restaurants found round Medan and other parts of Indonesia, and as far (near) as Singapore. Food served in all branches are similar, and you can get the same taste,... More

Good food, reasonably priced, has a non-smoking section which is rare in Medan. Located just outside Pasar Ikan which means fish market which it may have been decades ago. It's now the batik, cloth and clothing market.

This is a well known nasi padang chain and competes with Sederhana. I love daging rendang but I thought sederhana's was much better

But, wondering weather will there be any cycle of food? Just curious! Recommended for them not to put so many dishes on the table. Let your customer choose their own dishes.

Amazing food. Everyone stared when I walked in as it is a very Muslim restaurant and I was wearing shorts. I was escorted out to an air con room and instead of being given a menu they gave me about 7 plates to choose from. I chose beef, a different beef (rendang) and salted fish. OMG amazing taste. It was... More
