We ate at an Indonesian restaurant on Merdeka Walk. The food was OK, but overpriced for what we were used to paying. Also, there were a lot of restaurants trying to lure us in to their places, which bordered on hassling.

the food is oke, but i don't like the ambiance of this place. it is too crowded (sometime), and the music from the speaker is very annoying. Too loud, or maybe the quality of the speaker is bad...

It's a outdoor eating place with some variety of different restaurants, mostly flocked with young people and the quality is not as what I expected or got in other places in the "food heaven" Medan. But it's nice to see and maybe have a drink there with friends in the evening.

Lots of choices, but the food (nasi goreng) was nothing special. Expats told us later this is more of a tourist trap.

If you're not too adventurous, then you'll like Merdeka walk. It's not a big a area to be honest. It's a the size of a football field with nice, newly built row of shops running along it. I stayed in Grand Aston which was right opposite to Merdeka Walk. Overall, a must visit place on your Medan trip. You'll find very nice selection of restaurants. For the family with young kids, there is a playland. All n All Highly recommended place!

Lots of people hang out here at nite, relaxed and happy. Nice area to feel the "Indonesian" community coming together

A good place for hang out at night in Medan, with lots of food choices, easy access bcoz located at center of Medan. Completed with souvenirs shop, kids amusement park and a 24hr McD. Quite difficult to find a parking lot at weekend, and not cozy if rainy day
