What is it about hotels that means that they cant do coffee - I mean they can do international buffets ( not well) but coffee seems to be either watered down, stewed for ever or worse! Having despaired of hotel breakfast we made our way to the Lighthouse cafe - small and cosy it has the best coffee in Georgetown.... More

“Special design and cozzy little cafe”

Come in to this cafe, it has a board for patrons to stick their message on it. Varieties of coffee and nice cakes to choose. Good place to sit down and catching up with friends, with a slow nice background music.

we have known the LIGHTHOUSE BAKERY for some years, very worthwhile organisation who help those who've been in trouble back on the "straight and narrow". excellent products, not at all over priced, nice people who should be supported in their effort to make back into society!

“The garlic bread sticks are fantasic”

If you go to George Town, you should try the bakery over there, I really like the garlic bread sticks. It costs only MYR3 for a bag. My mom loves the curry pie. The Lighthouse Cafe and Bakery is located inside St Francis Xavier Church, just behind the gate.

The Lighthouse Bakery and shop is situated on Penang Rd in Georgetown close to, and on the same side as, the Cititel. It is a Project run by the Catholic Church to teach disadvantaged people bakery and retail skills for future employment.
