Description: Joe Theismann’s Restaurant, “Comfortable, Convenient, Classy & Established” is unique in character & difficult to categorize. For 35 years, it has melded the venues of fine dining, neighborhood grill & sports viewing. Implementing its original concept as a comfortable, friendly dining spot with great food & good value Joe Theismann’s offers what many restaurants don’t, character & personality. Patrons return for food quality, consistency & excellent staff. Although on the cutting edge in TV technology, the high score is for an exceptional dining experience. Not a chain/franchise, menu items are not stamped out, but prepared from scratch for seasonal freshness & customer preference. The range of offerings, Sea Bass in Tomato Basil Butter & Filet Mignon to hearty sandwiches, has survived the competition. The loyal following encompasses daily customers, tourists & local residents. Stop in. Celebrate an event, meet friends for lunch or just drop by for happy hour. Become a regular.

A short trip this weekend to see the Preakness at Pimlico at a nearby bar found me in Joe Theismann's on Saturday. A small but lively bar with an enthusiatic crowd gathered around three televisions set the stage for an interesting evening. There was a lot of talk about whether this was year of a Triple Crown with some knowledgeable... More

Theismann's is apparently a great hang-out place for after work folks. The food gets a C+ and the service gets a B. We went for a meal when we were in Alexandria and it was overall an enjoyable time with a reasonable menu selection for dinner. The main drawback, which is obvious when entering, is the fact that they cater... More

Joe's is a rarity in Alexandria - a reasonably-priced restaurant with unpretentious food. It is located conveniently near the King Street Metrorail station, near several hotels (Hilton, Embassy Suites, Hampton Inn). It is a good alternative to hotel dining, although its interior does sort of remind one of a hotel restaurant. As you would expect, Joe's is sports-themed. Multiple televisions... More

We occasionally dine at Joe Theismann's in Alexandria, so we decided towards the end of Mother's Day to have dinner there. We were frankly disappointed. Now I should say that normally we have a good experience there, but this day Joe's was off. We were placed in a back room under a huge video screen (it is a sports restaurant... More

Okay I can't comment on the food except for the fries - which were excellent. We went in to end our day with a drink and some fries. It was perfect. Lots of screens of course with sports everywhere, which is great but in some places can be overpowering. It's not here - not too loud to have a conversation... More

Hosted a 50th birthday party for my husband for 20 people at Joe T's. Staff was easy to work with in the planning process and took care of everything, no worries. Food was AMAZING as usually and offered a wide variety to the group. Different settings to dine including a sports bar, outdoor seating, inside dining and party room. Food+Staff+Location=Awesome... It's not fancy and nothing over the top. The food is good and the service is average. It's a decent place to check out when you want to step out and try someplace you've not been before but nothing to go out of your way to make a special trip to go and visit.

Inside seating, plenty of room, reasonable prices, great happy hour and good sized food portions. Located right outside the King Street Station.

Our office has used Joe's twice for luncheons in the past year, once in Sep 2012 and once in April 2013. They far exceeded our expectations both times based on their preparations and organization to make the events easy for us. They take the reservation with no advanced deposit required, provide a nice menu selection to preorder food, provide preprinted... More

We went here out of convenience since it was next to our hotel; but we kept going back due to the good food, atmosphere and price. We would recommend it.
