Bar Urca consists of a ground floor bar and a first floor restaurant. The bar is simply that - no tables or chairs, but it is situated over the small road from the sea-wall facing Botofogo Bay. We did what the locals do, bought a bottle of beer (in a cooler) together with some snacks and went and sat on... More

You can have your beer and "pastel" right on the side walk, and if you want to , take your beach chair and sit on the the other side and stair at the Guanabara Bay. Or, have lunch upstairs, but be ware, it's always crowded, so get there early. The pumpkin with shrimp is really worth asking for. I'd rather... More

Went for lunch today, after a day of hiking up Sugar Loaf. The place is small, but cozy, very good food and service. The beer is cold served in a frosty bottle and the fish was very fresh. We all got executive plates (1 beef, 2 fish) which were 35 reals each. Total for 3 persons was 131 reals. The... More

Excellent after a day spent at the beach. Find a place to sit at the wall in front of the bar, grab a beer, and wait for the sunset. To eat: 'bolinho de bacalhau' or 'pastel'

At least one of your days in Rio you should catch a sundown here. Preferably Sunday. You'll meet a local and dedicated crowd that loves this areas. So get your butt off Ipa or Copa and head out to Urca. Classixxx!

Well located with nice view of Baia da Guanabara. Nice staff and pretty good service. Food is good but a little too expensive. If you go by taxi, it may take you a while to find a taxi to go back. Urca, although a nic neighborhood to walk around, has narrow streets and taxis do not seem to like to... More

Great location, friendly locals, good prices and very casual. Order at te bar and take a spot in the path beside the water. Excellent views and worth doing in rio for lunch or a daytime snack.

I went there with my work team, about 12 people. The food was typical Brazilian, with quite a bit of fried food. The place upstairs has long tables and an excellent view. Larger family groups seem to love this place. It's great for a birthday or similar celebration. We enjoyed ourselves!

Fantastic food, either if you are in or outdoors the view is great, you must try 'pastel de camarao' pastry filled with shrimp, a lot of shrimp, after having some of those you can order a meal that will be enough to at list 4 people, so in the end is not very expensive.

Grab a beer, sit with your friends and chat. Watch the sunset. You will find lots of tourists, but most of the people that goes there are cariocas. There's no luxury..... But the view... wow!
