Standard Kerala cuisine with good variety. However those who are looking for authentic Kerala fish would be disappointed. They fry it too much with a lot of spices. karimeen pollichathu was a disappointment.

Kumarakom when it started used to be THE (budget) place to go to in Chennai with family if you wanted to have Kerala food. However, after thier rapid expansion all over Chennai, looks like they have slipped on both service and quality. I would only rate them as average on quality of food as well as service.

Food served specific to Kerala Region like Beef and Pork are excellent. Consistency of the Porottas and Appams are questionable. The Chicken roast and chicken pepper roast did not differ much in taste. However the veg dishes like Veg Gobi Manchurian was excellent and so was the FISH curry Kerala Style.

kumarokom has been my fav for quite a long time.And when it gets down to tasting food from god's own country,this place is my number one destination.has gr8 parathas n karimeen curry n also other tempting dishes,briyanis during lunch hours are a favourite too.worth a visit :-)

We used to visit Kumarakom. Nice hotel, food, atmosphere and service..It is very much apt for non veg items especially for food in kerala style..
