despite having so many stalls here selling similar dish, this is the place i always end up with time and again after multiple visit to melaka. unpretentious food and service, clean environment, and delicious food. i prefer rice served on a plate, rather than in balls. to me, chicken rice balls is just gimmicky.

Chicken is good, rice ball is ok only. I still prefer the singapore hainanse chicken rice. The cabbage is nice too.

we were quite disappointed at Hoe Kee. Perhaps coming from Singapore where there's many good chicken rice stalls, we were expecting a little more. The rice was fragrant and nice but the meat just felt too tough for my liking. If you are a fellow Singaporean, I recommend skipping this.

This is the 3rd time we've been to Melaka and were always put off by the queue and the fact it was right on Jonker St so we thought it wouldn't be that great (like Famosa) but this time we went and loved it! Before we thought the best was the Chung Wah at the bridge but we enjoyed Hoe... More

There was a really long queue on this shop and if you are bit late, you will just have bear being served by anything that they still have left. So better come a bit earlier. Food is so-so though, just as how chicken rice should taste like. Nothing special. As for the atmosphere: very busy, eat-pay-go, chop-chop-eat-quick-there's-a-long-line-outside, and you'll often... Hoe Kee chicken rice restaurant is certainly very popular here at Jonker street. Always a queue outside, and in weekend, you may have to wait for half an hour to get in. Well, chicken rice--- the chicken-- is the same every where in Malaysia (almost), the uinique food here is the rice ball, very special, very nice. It was hand-made... More

We tried chung wah chicken rice many times and decided to try Hoe Kee this time round. We found that Hoe Kee Chicken is comparable to chung wah chicken. Hoe kee's chicken rice is tastier than chung wah and lesser queue as hoe kee's sitting capacity is double of Chung wah. I personally feel that Hoe Kee is tastier but... More

We went past it at around 1pm, the queue is so long that it is on the road itself. When we went back at around 4+pm, we managed to get in pretty fast. Assam Fish Head - fishy smell, Assam sauce is thick and fantastic, a bit spicy Chicken - the meat is rubbery, most likely those kampong chickens, must... More
