We've always considered Mo's chowder in Newport, Oregon the gold standard with which to compare, and although the portion size we had today is smaller, it was loaded with clams and very tasty. We'll definitely come back when we get a chance.

Literally everything about my experience was perfect. Being greeted by the sweetest brown-eyed girl (I'm guessing the hostess) we got sat by a window so we could look at the gorgeous sun on the water and beautiful mountains. Our waitress was so nice and friendly! (Not to mention BEAUTIFUL!!) My husband and I got two glasses of Bear Creek Wine...

Prices are very high for locals. Went twice. Food is okay but nothing outstanding. Would not take a visitor here.
The owner is so wonderful. She runs 2 specials a year for local residents. All you can eat shrimp, scallops etc. It is really fun to eat there.
Having grown up around a fishing fleet and eating fish 4 times a week as a kid, I am pretty picky about sea food. Captain Patties has always put on a good sea-food dinner. We used to take our flying customers there for dinner at least once a week, but the prices over the last couple of years have risen...

The food was fantastic as was the location, atmosphere and staff. Can't think of anything I didn't like except I wish it could seat more people (us). A bit pricey, but worth it. We almost always are able to make two meals out of one which cuts the price in half.
Born & raised on the Chesapeake Bay in MD, great seafood is my passion. We were in Homer for 3 days & ate at Captain Pattie's twice. The food is fantastic - especially the halibut! The food totally compensates for the lack of ambience & tourist trap atmosphere.
We asked several locals for a restaurant recommendation for the best seafood...

To put this in perspective, I live in Alaska, my husband is a commercial fisherman, and I am a seafood snob. I rarely order seafood in restaurants. This meal I had at Patties was probably the best seafood meal I have had in my entire life.
I was in town on business and decided to visit the "famous" Homer spit....

Had some halibut and soup. All four of us were happy with our meal. This restaurant came recommended by several people. Pricey , can be a long wait too but they take reservations.
We stayed two nights in Homer and ate at Captain Patties both nights. Great sea food and Halibut!! There were a lot of choices for food in Homer but after reviewing the menus at the other restaurants we came back to Captain Patties. We were not disappointed. Prices were somewhat high everywere.
