The Halibut & Chips at West Rib Pub are the best I've had in a long time. The price is right and the servings are large. I've tried other things too, and I've never gotten anything that wasn't delicious.
Mustard Bourbon Chicken burnt on the outside and chokingly dry on the inside. Gouda on top unmelted? Bun from Burger King I'm sure. Sliced Prime Rib Sandwich had some variety of chopped meat about 1/4 cup and no slices. No meat to speak of and for 16 dollars as wel!
Salad wilted and watered cown dressing. The waiter touted better...

In September 2012, on our way from Denali to Anchorage, on a rainy, cold day, we had dinner at the West Rib Pub & Grill. We felt the warmth and smelled the delicious food. We were 4 people and we ordered different plates we all shared and we shared some beer as well. We all loved the food, the service...

In August we stopped in Talkeetna for a couple of days on our road trip to Alaska. Every restaurant we went to in Talkeetna was great, but we have particularly fond memories of the fresh "butts" served at the West Rib Pub. The local brews on tap didn't hurt either.
Really they are that great. Place has local beers and good food cheap. They took a very very large party of us (20+) at the last minute and made it work. The staff was very nice about it and they reopened the kitchen for us. I cant say enough nice things about this place.
The Friday special is Burger and a Brew (PBR) of $6.95, or you can upgrade to a real beer for $2. Burger was very good, as were the fries. And the IPA from Glacier Brewhouse in Anchorage was also very good. Do not expect anything more that a pub atmosphere, but the food is very good.
We stopped by West Rib Pub and Grill on main street. We found the Caribu Steak sandwhich to be excellent. Expect to pay $20-$25 per plate (The Alaska norm for lunch plates). We found this restarurant to be worth it!
We stopped in for a drink, but stayed for dinner. It was great! We were there for happy hour which also included half price appetizers. We had the halibut tenders, another appetizer and a couple beers. We were both full and left for under $25. The staff was nice and the food was great!
Food was good, and the beer was good, but the service kinda reeked. Might have been an off-night for the dude, but, don't know if we'll bother comin back.
