What a wonderful name for a wonderful venue! This is no ordinary cafe, but a sanctuary for the soul. There is something quite magical about this hidden little gem nestling in a trendy part of C.T. that attracts an amazing variety of patrons from across the globe. Perhaps it is the aroma of freshly ground coffee, or the wonderful display... More

We live in Cape Town in the summer months and are regulars (2-3 times a week) at this wonderful little Café in the heart of the trendy Waterkant area. Delicious food, great coffee, superb hosts. Len and Johan, the owners, are very attentive and prepare all of the homemade pastries and mouthwatering cakes themselves. We can even take our doggy... More

I have been to this quaint little coffee shop/lunch spot a few times now and it is always excellent. The decor is different and the little tables cute. the food is fresh, beautifully presentated and outstanding. Service a little bit slow but not too much of a problem but you are always made to feel so welcome. Try the carrot... More

I have heard about this establishment and noticed positive reviews recently in local news papers and magazines. I decided to visit this coffee restaurant none the less, following a friend and his family’s bad experience recently. My friend had an experience where his daughter by accident bumped a man in the restaurant trying to squeeze in at the table they... More

Amazing find in Cape Town, that became our morning local. Breakfast menu was delicious, with a great French twist. Definitely recommended. Would return if lucky enough to go back to Cape Town.

A breakfast/lunch room with flower power! Foral china, white tablecloths, cushioned seats - this cafe has a delightful, traditional, old fashioned feel to it. The butternut and blue cheese quiche was gorgeous - really light and creamy. The cakes ranged on stands, and peaking out from under glass domes, were very good indeed. We were spoilt for choice, but eventually... More

This is a beautiful little find. The owners Len and Johans are wonderful hosts whether you go to la Petite Tarte for coffee and one of the wonderful home made cakes (Carrot Cake is gorgeous!) or for a delightful lunch. The owners make all the food themselves and have even written a cookery book with some of the recipes included.... More
