For some reason, we have not eaten at Rancho Pinot Grill for a couple of years. We took some out-of-town guests, and their friends who recently moved here is they wanted something that emphasized local ingredients. The food was outstanding, however, I hate to talk about what we had, as the menu changes regularly. Two of the diners split a... More

Had Dinner with my mom and husband on a Friday night at 7:30pm. It was only about 1/2 full. Location: Tucked into a corner of a strip mall near Trader Joe's and Walgreens. Decor/Ambiance: Kitchy... Eclectic... Southwestern... Low lighting... White table cloth... Open setting, just tables no booths Surprisingly quiet considering that it is a very open room The kitchen... More

Great roasted beet salad; rib-eye was okay, not quite as flavorful as it looked, came to the table not quite hot. Great wine list and attentive staff. Will return.

We used to come to Scottsdale off and on for three winter seasons 15 years ago and Rancho Pinot was a favorite. It has been a long time since our last visit but it was just as good as I remembered. I would classify the food as new American with a southwestern twist. The salads are delicious and big enough... More

This was quite a surprise to find such a great restaurant in a strip mall. The gnocchi with lamb was outstanding.

We have been visiting Rancho Pinot for many years. Their menu is fairly limited, but then again every item is done to perfection. And makes a great place to take guests as the food is always excellent. And with fresh ingrediants. Very helpful and attentive staff.

I'm not sure if it is the best in the city -- but it sure is in the top 10. The ambiance is quiet and refined. The wine list is exceptional (not cheap, however). They have Sancerre a terrific French white. The main courses and appetizers are beuatifully presented. They seem to like sunchokes. There is always a soup special.... More

Although they say the menu changes frequently, I must say that the fennel, citrus, arugula, radish and parmesan salad was outstanding. The green olive-lemon vinaigrette made it special. The grilled quail appetizer with creamy polenta, sauteed green and ginger-pear mostarda was excellent. They offered a larger portion which would have included two quail. With the large salad, one was sufficient.... More

Three of us dined at Rancho Pinot after watching a programme featuring Valley restaurants on PBS. Many of the dishes were unavailable early on a Saturday evening, including soup, fish and veal entrees. Substitutions were offered. Two of us ordered fish. One of the fish entrees was overcooked and dry. The other fish meal was mediocre, at best. The last... More

Located in a shopping strip, but don't let that fool u. The food is well prepared and always tastes yummy. The tartlet is excellent, the salads always fresh, the entrees very satisfying. Overall it's good food that leaves your palate feeling good. And the soup last night was delicious, according to my sister in law. Only opened for dinner and... More
